Ever been inside a drapery workroom? Come with me.

Most people only see the finished drapery. This is the part that makes it hang right.

Sometimes, the most extraordinary detail in a room is the one with a little history.

For this kitchen, I chose antique tile that brings character, warmth, and a beautiful sense of individuality to the space. There’s something wonderful about incorporating materials that have a story to tell. They add a richness and personality that simply can’t be replicated.

Who says a guest bathroom has to play it safe?

I wanted this guest en suite to feel cheerful and a little unexpected. The citron green walls do most of that work. The crisp white vanity keeps everything clean and practical, so the green never tips into too much.

My favorite detail is the mirror. It started as a plain white frame. I added ornamental bowls I found in Mexico, and it stopped being just a mirror.

Good design should have a sense of humor. This room has one.

We’re talking kitchens today, and look what I found to anchor this beautiful space!

Every great kitchen needs a little personality, something unexpected that catches your eye and brings the entire room together.

Same room. Same walls. Same windows. What changed is everything you put your hand on and everything the light touches. That’s usually all a transformation takes.

Come downstairs with me. This is the wine cellar in a traditional home, and we slipped in a few contemporary pieces to keep it from feeling like a museum. Old house, new ideas, good wine.

The bed is the one thing in the room you touch every single night. Get it right and the whole bedroom feels like a hug at the end of the day.

Here’s how I do it.

This is how a room builds a world. One pattern informing the next, the same color running through all of it, until every piece feels like it was always meant to be there.

Every texture in this office was a decision, not an accident. Backlit bookcases, tray ceiling wallpapered overhead, a wall of motorized shades that disappear when you do not need them.

This is what it looks like when nothing is left to chance.
