I am very excited to share that the kitchen from our Houston Heights new construction project has been featured in the Wall Street Journal! From an inviting exterior to an elegant interior, this Houston Heights home really was a beautiful project. This new construction is contemporary, smart, and comfortable–the perfect cozy home for a family of three, but also the ideal space for entertaining guests especially in the kitchen.

Thank you @wsj and also thank you to my wonderful clients Elizabeth McIngvale and Matthew Mackey.
In my opinion, which is admittedly somewhat biased, this is a truly beautiful sitting area. While I love combining chairs with sofas and ottomans, this oversized sectional is gorgeous all on its own. The rustic coffee table adds a nice contrast to the contemporary décor and minimalistic setting.
You may remember this room from an earlier post. As design evolves, I have decided to add an additional 10,000 capishell disc. When creating a space with a very defined focal point, it should make an impact. I think adding more will really bring the client’s vision to fruition.
International influences and travel-inspired designs can work together in perfect harmony. Sometimes clients are inspired by their travels and want to bring that influence from a vacation to their homes. While others want to pay homage to their heritage by using their family background as inspiration for their home’s design and decor. These ideas are always a fun way to add a personal touch....
This year, my travels took me to the gorgeous country of Egypt. Egypt is rich in history, mythology, and some of the most breathtaking architecture ever made. From a design standpoint, it truly is amazing how they were able to construct such intricate and massive structures. For example, the Temple of Karnak in Luxor, Egypt where there is much renovation happening. It is really a master puzzle that is being put together by architects, geologists, and archaeologists as they attempt to reconstruct the temple while at the same time understanding the history and cultural significance of the project....
When I speak of design being in the details, I’m speaking about beautifully ornate pieces in carefully selected places. Choosing a simple door handle for such a beautiful home would have been an injustice. Instead, I selected a gold handle with beautiful details to add charm to the home.
Gorgeous design starts with a concept. The deep blue of the cabinets and copper vent hood were the design inspiration behind this kitchen. The backsplash, drawer pulls, and lighting fixtures were chosen with careful intention.

A small and beautiful bar creates a unique space for homeowners to create cocktails for a night of entertaining, or acts as a way to display their impressive collection. I chose simple counters, sleek shelving, and a wow-factor wallpaper to create an impactful home bar.
This principal bathroom encompasses a light and bright design. The powder blue vanity couples with the blue hues of the wall covering and shower. I kept the floors, countertops, and décor pieces bright white to maintain a sleek design.
This California home features blue throughout the entire home. I decided to bring that color into smaller décor pieces like this vase and floral arrangement. Small touches like this really add color to your home.
While shopping at Roundtop, I loved this display. Brass and gold elements in décor is quite trendy right now. While trends are great to incorporate into your design, the key is to balance these pieces with more classic and timeless furnishings. One of the best ways to achieve timelessness is to marry trendy pieces with more vintage choices.
