Holiday Tablescape Tips

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. This is a day where we can all reflect on the wonderful blessing we have in our lives. This year, I feel most blessed for my health, my loved ones, and, of course, you!

Some may think the holiday is all about the feast, however I think creating the perfect table setting truly sets the tone for it all. Here are a few tips on how to create a stunning table setting that your guests will remember.

Holiday Table Setting Tips

Determine your color scheme.

Holiday Tablescape Tips 1

Decide what colors you will use to create your table setting. It’s important to choose one that fits your taste and style.  Whether it be the classic fall foliage colors of tones of orange, yellow, and green or something a little more modern like deep plum, purple, and brown hues.

Bill’s Personal Tip: In lieu of a tablecloth, I recommend purchasing a piece of fabric that ties into your color scheme and lay it out in the middle of the table ruched up to use as a DIY table runner. No need for a tablecloth!

Simple centerpieces are best

Holiday Tablescape Tips 2

Ensure your centerpieces aren’t too high, so your guests can see each other from across the table. You want to make sure it’s stunning, yet simple.

Layer your settings to make a statement

Holiday Tablescape Tips 3

Start with a gorgeous placemat, select a charger, and then add your china. Don’t forget table name cards for a personalized touch. It truly takes your table to the next level.

Bill’s Personal Tip: Be sure you’re putting out enough china for all your courses! Think: Do my guests need a salad plate? A bowl for soup? Be sure to set it all out in each guest’s table setting so they have what they need.
